Saint-Gobain Manufacturing Engineer in ATHENS, Georgia

What's the job?

The Manufacturing Engineer , internally referred to as the Cold End Process Engineer , plays a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing facility by offering technical expertise. In this position, the individual will leverage their mechanical and process engineering knowledge to execute and support assigned projects within the Cold End. Additionally, the role involves coordinating the maintenance of utilities for the Cold End. The responsibilities encompass conducting process capability studies to address operational deficiencies, ensuring the development of a repeatable process, and ultimately delivering a high-quality product that meets all customer specifications.

Plant Engineering Support

  • Provide cold-end technical support to the plant for day-to-day issues (when required)

  • Develop and implement improvement projects based upon root cause failure analysis and corrective action development

  • Specific technical leadership and knowledge required for fabricating and packaging fiberglass insulation products

  • Manage controllable expenses to budget specifications. Update plant and equipment drawings, as needed

Plant Support

  • Lead assigned plant initiatives involving 5S, safety auditing, down-day support, energy conservation, and various others not listed

Project Management

  • Design, budget, and implement cost savings projects

  • Update training documents (JSA’s, LOTO, WOP, SOP, etc.) and work in conjunction with HR, QA, Safety, and Environmental departments

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) required

  • 2 to 5 years of experience , preferably in a continuous flow process manufacturing environment

  • PLC experience

  • Project management experience

  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and dynamic environment
