Summary:

Works under direct supervision, performing general overall cleaning and housekeeping duties in both Clinic and hospital facilities

Description:

Job Duties:

Cleanliness and Sanitation:Performs thorough cleaning of patients rooms, including beds, furniture and fixtures. Ensure surfaces, floors and walls are clean, sanitized and free from debris, stains and orders.

Infection Control:Follow strict infection control procedures, including the use of appropriate protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to hand hygiene protocols. Pay special attention to high-touch surfaces and area to minimize the risk of healthcare associated infections.

Waste Management:Handle and dispose of medical waste, trash, and soiled linens in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines. Maintain proper separation and containment of different types of waste.

Linen and Laundry Management:Collect, sort, and launder linens, including bed sheets, towels, gowns and blankets. Ensure an adequate supply of clean and folded linens is available for patient use.

Public Areas and Waiting Rooms:Clean and maintain public areas such as waiting rooms, lobbies, corridors, and restrooms. Regularly restock supplies, including paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.

Equipment and Supply Inventory:Monitor and restock housekeeping supplies, including cleaning agents, disinfectants, and equipment. Report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.

Emergency Response:Assist during emergency situations, such as spills, accidents, or natural disasters, by promptly cleaning up and disinfecting affected areas.

Collaboration:Communicate effectively with nursing staff, maintenance personnel, and other hospital departments to address housekeeping needs and ensure a coordinated approach to maintaining cleanliness and safety.

Safety and Security:Follow hospital safety protocols and ensure that equipment and materials are stored securely and used safely. Report any safety hazards or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Compliance:Adhere to allhospital policies, procedures, and regulations, including HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines, to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Continuous Improvement:Seek opportunities for professional development, stay updated on best practices in healthcare housekeeping and actively participate in training programs or workshops provided by the hospital.
