Huntsman is seeking an EHS Technician will be supporting the Huntsman Advanced Materials Americas LLC located in Ashtabula, Ohio This position will report to the EHS Manager. Job Scope This position exists to ensure the Environmental, Health and Safety programs are operating effectively by performing activities within all mandated governmental and Huntsman guidelines. In summary, as the EHS Technician, you will: Facilitate and coordinate safety committee and other EHS related activities. Track KPI/Metric for the site. Audit permits and provide feedback to stakeholders (hot work, confined space, lock, tag, try) as required. Assist with Site/Visitor/Contractor and Employee safety training. Maintain sites EHS regulatory training matrixes. Lead and improve site's occupational safety, emergency response, and industrial hygiene programs. Create and maintain sites EHS procedures and records. Conduct new employee and existing employee EHS training/testing. Work on projects and duties as assigned. Follow instructions and perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor. Assist other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals. Participate in and complete company-required training programs. Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States. Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field, OR 3+ years' experience working in a safety role at a manufacturing facility. Preferred Qualifications Must have a good level of understanding of applicable federal regulations and EHS procedures. Must be able to lead teams and facilitate efficient team meetings. Selected candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be capable of making group presentations as well as the individual skills to effectively interface with management, production operators and professional people in H/S/E, manufacturing and outside agencies. Experience with conducting safety training programs is desired. Selected candidate must be available 24/7 to respond to emergencies and walk and climb stairs as needed to interact within the Plant on a daily basis. Selected candidate will have strong PC skills and be comfortable utilizing Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other required software. Selected candidate must have demonstrable experience as a self-starter that can perform and complete their duties with minimal supervision and set and achieve challenging goals and perform problem solving that leads to solutions that deliver success. CSP, ASP, CIH or relevant professional certification is a plus. Working Environment Please ref
