The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the performance of the assigned Warehouse department to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, continual process improvement, and support of the Process Manager by coordinating health enthusiast job duties, communication, reporting, and area based projects. They will provide analytical support, conduct root cause analysis, and own the update and maintenance of reports pertinent to the department they report to. The Supervisor will support ongoing training needs in their environment, ensuring all health enthusiasts are trained and performing responsibilities according to area’s standard operating procedures. They ensure the strategic needs of the department and broader business are met through cross-functional interaction and partnerships with Warehouse business partners.

Responsibilities

Supervise the performance of health enthusiasts to support the business needs.

  • Connects with each health enthusiast every day; sustains a high level of visibility and approachability.

  • Enables an energizing work environment by:

  • Displaying a positive and optimistic attitude

  • Celebrating milestones and achievement of goals

  • Providing health enthusiasts with on the spot recognition (formal/informal)

  • Solicits and is open to feedback from health enthusiasts

  • Reports important information or opportunities to Process Manager

  • Responds to health enthusiast inquiries and issues ensuring appropriate and timely follow-up

  • Seeks HR and/or Operations Management support for key health enthusiast issues

  • Conducts department activities that allow health enthusiasts to feel connected or informed

  • Shares appropriate and timely information with associates, peers, and leaders

  • Maintains a clean and safe environment

  • Represents and supports the Vitamin Shoppe brand in the Warehouse environment

  • Support teamwork at all levels within the Warehouse environment

  • Support Warehouse goals and health enthusiast performance by communicating UPH, Quality, Safety, Attendance, and other performance results information to health enthusiasts

  • Hold health enthusiasts accountable to achieving Warehouse goals and objectives

Maintain department resources, supplies, and equipment

  • Assure health enthusiasts are supplied with all equipment and supplies required to effectively perform their responsibilities

  • Manage distribution and return of daily supplies

Supervise health enthusiast communication flows and processes, assuring health enthusiasts receive all required Vitamin Shoppe and Warehouse related information/communication.

  • Execute daily kick off meetings as directed by Process Manager

  • Provide company information to health enthusiasts

  • Support delivery of internal Warehouse communication and goals

Supervise the process to prepare and maintain departmental reports and spreadsheets that support strategic business decisions.

  • Responsible for timely preparation of documents as assigned by Process Manager.

  • Supervise and resolve recurring business issues impacting Warehouse performance

  • Supervise the department scheduling process to ensure established criteria is met, make recommendations for process improvements, and make adjustments as necessary to support the needs of the business.

Supervise and participate in projects.

  • Collaborate with internal business partners and health enthusiasts as needed to resolve outstanding issues and inventory discrepancies

  • Evaluate all project deliverables for content and quality

  • Identify roadblocks that may impact deliverable dates and recommend alternative solutions. Be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment

Assume additional duties and responsibilities as required to meet the established goals of the Warehouse.

The Supervisor will deal with highly confidential information on a daily basis and must use good judgment.

Other Functions:

  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the activities of health enthusiasts to include performance evaluation, coaching, and developing

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • High school or equivalent work experience

Required Knowledge:

  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, Access, etc)

Experience Required:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Warehouse operations. Customer Service experiences a plus.

Skill and Ability:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and procedure manuals

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates within the organization across vertical and horizontal lines

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages and to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

  • Ability to multi-task with extreme attention to detail
