Automotive Technician\ Ashland, ME FT/Days Temp-to-Hire Opportunity\ \ Job Description:\ \ Immediate opening for a full-time Automotive Technician in Ashland. Great daytime schedule and competitive starting pay. Two or more years of professional experience required. Full-Time/Days; 7:30 AM 4:30 PM, Monday Friday; \$22.00-\$28.00/hr., depending on experience.\ \ The Automotive Technician will provide repair and maintenance services on a variety of customer vehicles. Ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of automotive systems, good communication skills, and the ability to complete various repair and maintenance projects in a safe and efficient manner. Must be able to work independently, but also cooperate well with colleagues, customers, and management.\ \ Responsibilities:

• Perform routine automotive maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, battery installations, headlight/taillight installations, transmission work/flushes, air conditioner recharges, and front-end alignments.
• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify performance issues and make effective and accurate recommendations to customers.
• Verify that all repairs are complete and that vehicles are operating correctly and safely before returning them to customers.
• Inspect vehicles to ensure that they meet local, state, and federal requirements for safety and emissions.
• Keep accurate and organized records of completed projects and customer information.
• Stay up to date on current industry practices and be willing to learn how to properly use new tools and technologies.
• Keep the job site clean and safe by properly storing tools and materials.
• Ensure that all equipment in the garage is well-maintained and working properly.
• Follow all safety measures as directed and notify management about safety incidents or potential hazards in a timely manner.

\ Job Requirements:\

• High school diploma or equivalent education required. Degree and/or certifications relating to automotive repair are strongly valued.
• Valid drivers license and good driving record.
• At least two years of professional experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
• Good communication skills; ability to explain services to customers and coordinate workload with colleagues.
• Ability to read and understand service manuals.
• Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

\ Schedule: Full-time/Days; 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Some overtime available as needed.\ Pay: \$22.00-\$28.00/hr., depending on experience.\ \ TEMPO Employment Services is an EEO/AA employer.
