Job Description
Work as a Senior Manufacturing Technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. Make a global impact.
Here are some key responsibilities:
Use metallurgy skills to identify suitable braze methods for brass, copper, and steel while adhering to ISO standards.
Select torch tips, flux, and brazing alloys based on work station instructions or work orders.
Assemble components in accurate sequence by aligning and drilling holes, adding rivets, screws, bolts, braces, tape, cement, or solder.
Read electrical wiring diagrams to ensure accurate assembly.
Inspect parts during sub-assembly and at key points to ensure they meet specified quality standards.
Use a diverse selection of hand tools, such as a drill, rivet gun, and drill press.
Enter product-related data into the SAP system and track component serial numbers, scan barcodes, production rates, and physical location.
Order and retrieve supplies/materials using paper and SAP documents.
Troubleshoot work-related problems and take appropriate steps for resolution.
Test assembled units, clean and pack the final product.
Mount compressors, condensers, and other components in specified locations on frames, using hand and power tools.
Apply solder along adjoining edges of workpieces to build solder joints, using soldering irons, gas torches, or electric-ultrasonic equipment.
Adjust electric current and timing cycles of resistance on induction brazing machine to heat metals to bonding temperature.
Keys to Success:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Experience:
1-2 years of Brazing experience required.
Minimum of one year of confirmed experience in manufacturing, construction maintenance, or industrial setting.
Previous experience with multiple component manufacturing production assembly.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions.
Physical requirements include standing, bending, reaching, and handling bulky parts. The ability to frequently lift up to 35 pounds is needed.
Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills.
