Pratt & Whitney is constructing an Advanced Casting Foundry (ACF) within its Asheville, NC facility. We’re looking for a Senior Materials Planner to join the ACF Team and work to enable its production startup and production deliveries. Planner must be a self-starter that will work in a cross functional team environment to establish material production support strategies and drive to closure plans for product and non-product commodities to enable delivery of production castings to the value stream.

This Position is Onsite in Asheville.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and implement the non-product strategy for Asheville Advanced Casting Foundry.

  • Interact with management, Asheville materials planning organization, purchasing, supply chain & value stream, and the customer to ensure finished product delivery plans meet customer requirements.

  • Lead the establishment of full waste stream management plan, work with ACF team and site EHS to implement plan.

  • Manage integration of non-product purchasing systems with SAP and implement measures to ensure the value stream is always healthy and to be able to address areas of opportunity quickly.

  • Support creation of plan for every part, inclusive of parts, tooling & non-product.

  • Lead and support various continuous improvement activities as part of CORE operating system to ensure materials requirements are incorporated into facility plans.

  • Develop lean material solutions and support senior management with the development and implementation of materials improvement strategies.

  • Implement key objectives for Asheville non-product management including shortage management, inventory initiatives & lean initiatives.

  • Focal point for ACF’s delivery assurance responsibilities throughout the value stream through production standup, LRIP and full rate production.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of prior production/manufacturing materials, or an advanced degree in a related field and 3+ years’ experience.

  • Strong project engineering/planning and communication/presentation skills are a must for this position.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proficiency in the Materials discipline.

  • Experience utilizing SAP operating system.

  • Computer skills- Proficient Microsoft Office.

  • Creative troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivated, excellent organization skills, and be able to work independently with the value stream teams.

  • Exhibit a proficiency in business decision making, customer relationship maintenance, and adaptability.

  • Success working in a high energy and fast paced manufacturing environment with the ability to adapt to changing business conditions.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles, Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE).

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
