Field Training Officer

Wage: $29.00/ hour

Position Overview:

The Field Training Officer (FTO) is the primary training resource for a data center campus or metro location. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective onboarding and continuous training of security personnel. The FTO will collaborate closely with campus leadership and other regional and headquarters teams to address training needs, resolve problems, enhance services, and improve safety processes. While this position has no direct reports, it plays a crucial role in assessing and meeting the needs of employees, sites, and the overall campus.

Essential Functions:

  1. Serve as the main point of contact for onboarding and sustainment training.

  2. Train and certify new security personnel, maintaining required training documentation, with support from Administrative Officers (AOs) as needed.

  3. Conduct in-person training with security personnel in the field daily.

  4. Track and monitor training completion.

  5. Prioritize safety awareness and champion safety initiatives developed at the global and regional levels.

  6. Coordinate with local leadership and headquarters training teams to develop and roll out site-specific training plans.

  7. Ensure all site personnel adhere to policies and standard operating procedures.

  8. Recommend onboarding and training schedules aligned with the needs of security staff to site and campus security managers.

  9. Assist with audit compliance related to training.

  10. Conduct recurring audits and prepare and submit critical and confidential information to campus leadership.

  11. Maintain accurate training and safety documentation, in line with established policies and procedures.

  12. Provide feedback on competence, compliance, and morale to campus site leadership.

  13. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

  14. Identify security shortfalls and offer suggestions for improving the security program.

  15. Evaluate and escalate potential safety issues within the facility.

  16. Follow safe work practices, company policies, and safety rules and regulations; notify supervisors of any unsafe working conditions.

  17. Carry out all functions, duties, and tasks in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, ensuring compliance with applicable company policies and procedures.
