The Director of Government Contracts will lead Govini’s Contracts and Capture teams and will champion strategic and tactical initiatives that contribute meaningfully to Govini’s rapid growth in the government sector. This leader will oversee contracting and acquisition strategies, manage a portfolio of prime contract vehicles, direct capture strategies and proposal management, and work cross-functionally to win new business. At the center of government deals, you will drive the development and delivery of major proposals and contracts, partnering with stakeholders across Govini’s Account Team business verticals and Govini’s functional teams, including sales, finance, product, engineering, program management, and executive teams. You will provide essential project management and content generation skills, expertly navigating the dynamic environment of a hyper-growth company and managing competing priorities with overlapping schedules. You will craft compelling materials to inform our customers’ market research and acquisition strategies, write technical narratives on cutting edge capabilities, build and implement pricing strategies in collaboration with product, sales, and executives, and work with internal and external stakeholders to close deals.
This is a full-time team member position, working in the office at our Arlington, VA location.
Scope of Responsibilities
Design and execute capture strategies for strategic contract vehicles and contract awards to propel Govini GTM efforts and attain growth goals
Develop and maintain strategic pricing across all of Govini’s products and business lines on a range of government contracts
Lead high-level negotiations to generate lucrative contracts and/or build beneficial strategic relationships that magnify and/or broaden Govini’s market offerings
Develop staff by ensuring assigned personnel fully understand capture management, proposal/quote/ROM generation, providing effective feedback to staff, and identifying and promoting growth opportunities
Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of key opportunities
Creates strategies to influence and shape customer requirements and acquisition strategies
Manage and write responses to government customer requests for white papers, general product or company information, quotes, and proposals
Coordinate with technical counterparts on Govini’s product, data, and engineering teams to accurately represent the company’s technology to potential customers
In partnership with key internal stakeholder teams (e.g., programs, product, engineering, science, marketing, etc.) execute Govini’s capture, contracting, and outreach strategies through proposals, white papers, and other market-shaping documents
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree is required
8-10 years’ experience in government contracting required; experience in both government and industry preferred
Subject matter expert-level knowledge of software licensing to the U.S. government, commercial item acquisition, and Department of Defense acquisition processes
Proficiency in all contract types, including other transactions, FAR-based contracts, and agreements ranging in ACV beyond $100M
Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple work streams and manage personnel with widely varying levels of experience
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to generate top-quality content on short timelines
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across an organization on contract formation and administration
Desired Skills:
Current possession of a U.S. security clearance, or the ability to obtain one with our sponsorship
Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
Master’s Degree is preferred
