GCyber Voice Engineer in Arlington, Virginia

GCyber is hiring a Voice Engineer to support Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management – Next Gen) contract at the Pentagon. You will secure and expertly apply the latest technologies to advance the mission. Your work in enterprise IT will help our clients overcome evolving demands and missions.

Due to the Nature of this role, the employee must report full time onsite in Arlington, VA.

As the Voice Engineer, you will:

  • Voice System Administrator Team member on 24x7 Operation and Maintenance Staff performing daily activities in support of the DoD Revision Ribbon AS LSC; with all its Core and Peripheral systems.

  • Administrator will be the on-site Subject Matter Expert for the Ribbon AS system in support of over 90,000 users.

  • Work encompasses support of SIP based Session Managers, Provisioning Manager, Personal Agent Manager, Media Application Servers, PRI Gateways and Associated Element Managers.

  • Also limited interface and monitoring of Cisco Call Manager used for VOSIP system.

  • Support for VOIP phones, TDM and SIP Trunking, Voice Mail, E911, and UC features.

  • Candidate will be familiar with Ribbon AS or Avaya AS5300 system Architecture and have working knowledge of its Element Managers, Linux command line, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and common industry standard fiber and copper physical media support for Telephony.

  • Daily activities will involve alarm monitoring, scheduling/running of system backups, system upgrades, preventative maintenance, hardware replacement, system troubleshooting, Telephony dial-plan, and routing changes.

  • Engineer will be required to work independently and with vendors, identify root cause issues and determine proper problem resolution, collect logs for vendor evaluation.

  • Engineer will interface with customers, Local Exchange Carrier, local in-house cabling support, and Ribbon.

  • Perform call-flow evaluation and other duties required to operate, maintain, update, and perform break-fix actions, trouble ticketing, reporting, and system interface with other telephony switches, VTCs, & ACDs.

  • Experience with Oracle SIP Session Boarder Controller is highly desirable.

  • Also required to interface with Service Now ticketing system and escalate system issues to other team leads and members when appropriate.

  • Hands-on Experience as Operator of Ribbon AS or AS5300 Switch highly desired; must have experience with DoD version of Voice Switch if not Avaya or Ribbon.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Must have a current CompTIA Security+ certification

  • On of the following training certifications

  • Avaya AS5300 or Ribbon AS Fundamentals

  • Avaya AS5300 or Ribbon Maintenance & Provisioning

  • Cisco – CCNA Voice Certified

  • Cisco – CCNA Routing

  • Nortel – Carrier VoIP Communication Server XA-Core

  • Nortel – Communication Server 2100

  • Nortel – Nortel Unified Communications Solutions

  • Avaya – Avaya Aura Application Server 5300 R2 or Above

  • Avaya – Avaya Aura Communication Manager or similar Carrier PBX certification.

  • BS in computer science, engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience.

  • 5+ years of experience
