Naval Air Systems Command SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Arlington, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISITCS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the AIR SYSTEMS GROUP, LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT, MAINTENANCE DIVISION, and MAINTENANCE PLANNING BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The incumbent is functionally aligned to the NAWCAD Air Systems Logistics Department AB30000 and is tasked to provide technical assistance as required by the ASG Logistics Department Director AB30000 and ASG Logistics Department Maintenance Division Head AB31000. Responsibilities You will ensure technically trained and skilled personnel within the ASG Maintenance Division are assigned to NAVAIR/NAWCAD cognizant programs and their associated IPT's, Fleet Support Teams (FST) and local or world-wide Enterprise Teams (ET's). You will provide top-down organizational management of the ASG’s components and resources. You will institute initiatives to reduce infrastructure costs and enhance organizational performance/program efficiencies to achieve lower total operating costs in support of fleet readiness goals, modernization and recapitalization requirements. You will brief senior Navy and DOD officials regarding program logistical and technical support issues. You will ensure frequent review of program assignments of logistics support assets and evolving customer requirements in order to balance resources versus demand. You will evaluate and provide input into the performance of individuals and teams assigned to ASG Maintenance Division to determine adequacy of skills, training and supporting resources. You will plan and assign work to subordinates based on their capabilities as well as set/adjust priorities and prepare schedules for completing work based on the difficulty of the requirement. You will evaluate subordinate supervisors and serve as the reviewing official on evaluations of non-supervisory personnel rated by subordinate supervisors. You will determine whether contractor performed work meets standards or adequacy necessary for authorization of payment. You will find and implement ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team building, and improve business practices. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13/14 grade level or pay band (NM-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating the ability to plan, analyze, and execute necessary actions to create and establish aviation integration supportability policies and procedures for major aviation systems that operate; 2) Reviewing plans and products to ensure that they meet program needs; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; and 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.
