Come contribute your ideas to security at Amazon. Our group is Amazon Foundational Security Services (AFSS). We deliver internal security services that support Amazon businesses including Amazon.com, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Twitch, Whole Foods, Kuiper, and many more. We deliver Amazon's internal security tooling for identity management, permissions management, access control, authorization, and authentication. Our services are used company-wide to ensure that Amazon services have a strong security foundation.

We are looking for Security Industry Specialists from diverse backgrounds, who are creative problem solvers and passionate about delivering solutions that improve both user experience and security while meeting internal and external standards and compliance requirements. Our services underpin many cloud technologies, so we carefully consider our technology decisions, dependency trees, and architectures to ensure that the company’s critical services can depend on us. In this role, you will work across many stakeholders that deliver internal security services at Amazon to design solutions that meet global industry standards and regulatory requirements. As part of the team, you will identify industry requirements, evaluate compliance requests, and deliver results that demonstrate the effectiveness of Amazon's internal security controls. You’ll apply your creative problem-solving skills and work with service teams and partner security teams to provide assurance to customers, as well as, design, build, and execute high-impact security or compliance programs for highly regulated entities.

Key job responsibilities

You will be responsible for a set of long term security outcomes. Your day to day job responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with engineering, compliance, security, and Legal teams to meet compliance and regulatory requirements and design compliant solutions;

  • Communicating to key stakeholders and leadership the operational processes around Amazon security practices and how controls are implemented across the environment;

  • Communicating to leadership key risks and areas of program improvement, as well as, seek diverse opinions and coordinate improvement efforts;

  • Fielding and addressing compliance information requests in collaboration with internal stakeholders;

  • Bridging communication with key stakeholders and Amazon technical communities to articulate how compliance requirements impact Amazon; and

  • Operating a quality rhythm of the business for managing multiple stakeholder expectations simultaneously.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Accounting/Auditing, or other related fields

  • 7+ years of experience in security, audits, customer trust, control assessments, or risk assessments OR 7+ years of experience in data center operations, facilities management, or systems management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in third-party audits and regional/regulatory examinations

  • Experience in performing technical assessments and documentation around key controls and security processes, as well as auditing IT processes, including working knowledge of key controls across a number of industry best practices
