We are looking or an experienced Sr. Product Manager – Tech to guide the next evolution of one of AWS’s most impactful AI skilling initiatives, the AWS AI/ML Scholarship program (https://aws.amazon.com/machine-learning/scholarship/). You will be responsible for founding our AWS SRI’s educational technology roadmap to deploy solutions that help learners gain vital job skills for the future, especially those who are underrepresented in technology.

AWS Social Responsibility & Impact (SRI) exists to fuel, align, and amplify the good that AWS does in the world. We deploy technology and technical expertise to tackle societal and environmental challenges, democratize access to the cloud, and collaborate with mission-driven customers to deliver social and business value. We achieve this through single-threaded leadership of AWS social impact – working to better align business-embedded impact programs, partnering with teams across the enterprise to force multiply our efforts and grow awareness of AWS innovation, and serving as connective tissue to broader Amazon efforts.

The PMT in this role will own the requirements and product roadmaps for the scholarship as well as related education initiatives. They will manage the product lifecycle of the 2.0 iteration of the AI/ML Scholarship from discovery, requirements gathering, planning, implementation, and refinement post launch. They will determine which global markets we can best serve, execute make or buy decisions to determine 3P EdTech solutions in the event of in-house technology limitation. They will own and increase the standards of excellence on privacy, security, and accessibility for our learner facing products across the organization, in partnership with internal technology teams such as Amazon Q, AWS Training & Certifications, and our external EdTech collaborating organizations. They will also have an exciting opportunity to guide and advise on the creation of technical advising program for social impact organization who work with SRI, using experience in AI/ML Scholarship as a jumping off point to create a larger value proposition to assist organizations with building on AWS for good.

This role is inherently cross-functional: you will work with engineers, solutions architects, product, marketing, business development, and program staff. Every day, you get to come into work knowing you are positively impacting learners like Prerana Sapkota (https://youtu.be/Vt9IkwiZB-E).

Key job responsibilities

-Envision, design, and implement the next evolution of the AWS AI/ML Scholarship.

-Partner with technical teams across AWS, especially in AI/ML service teams, to incorporate cutting edge AI into the scholarship experience.

-In partnership with other team members and AWS Training & Certification, author and evangelize the strategy for AWS's become known for doing good through AI education and skilling.

-Establish an org-wide technical advising function for AWS Social Responsibility & Impact customers to gain access to prioritized solutions architect to optimize and scale their social impact workloads.

A day in the life

Work across AWS services teams (Amazon Q, Sagemaker, Bedrock), skilling teams (AWS Training & Cert, APN, Machine Learning University etc.), and peers on social responsibility to create an amazing 2.0 experience on the AI/ML scholarship as well as a new technical advising function for our customers (organizations like Thorn, Code.org, Halcyon House, NetHope.org etc.).

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience building and scaling an edtech product.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
