Amazon Sr. Mgr, Professional Services Security Engineer, Global Services Security in Arlington, Virginia

Description

The Sr. Mgr, Security Engineer will build and lead a multi-disciplined security team to oversee the execution of Professional Service’s (ProServe) field security and its related processes. This includes applying and improving mechanisms to ensure the security of engagement delivery teams, setting a high bar for deliverable security quality, supporting and improving business security operations, and ensuring customer security business outcomes are incorporated. This position will have high visibility across Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), including frequent interaction with SMGS senior leadership. The Sr. Mgr, Security Engineer will work with ProServe leadership and stakeholders to drive ownership and accountability to maintain a high security bar.

GSS requires innovative thinking balanced with a strong customer and focus on quality and execution. The Sr. Mgr, Security Engineer will have a multi-disciplined background, a strong track record of leading security programs for public sector and commercial consulting teams, demonstrable program/project management, and a deep understanding of general security programs, processes, and requirements and the engineering needed to deliver and scale programs across security and wider stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

Among other duties, the Sr. Mgr, Security Engineer will:

  • Partner with ProServe leadership and stakeholders to drive meaningful improvements in security controls, mechanisms and metrics.

  • Ensure the ProServe organization continues to develop and operate in accordance with internal and customer security policies and practices.

  • Continuously monitor processes and mechanisms and drive improvements in efficiency and quality of ProServe security.

  • Engage with AWS and customer leadership teams on a regular basis.

  • Communicate ProServe security issues and engage leadership in risk-based discussions.

  • Build and lead a team of high-performing security engineers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years’ experience in technical security design or compliance consulting or advisory work in support of a highly technical environment.

  • 5+ years of experience hiring and leading diverse multi-functional teams.

  • Experience with multiple compliance standards, such as: PCI DSS, SOC 1/2/3, ISO 27001/27017/27018, FedRAMP, HIPAA, IRAP, FISC, K-ISMS, MTCS, or C5.

  • Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical background will some demonstrable understanding of cloud services/deployment architecture (ideally AWS cloud services offering).

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others, coupled with a willingness to take a hands-on approach.

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Exceptional execution capability, adhering to the highest standards in a rapidly evolving business environment.

  • Meets or exceeds Amazon's leadership principles and requirements for this role.

  • Meets or exceeds Amazon's expectations for functional/technical depth and complexity in this role.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $324,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
