The Team: We are expanding our platform team to support Amazon Physical Retail stores which include Amazon Go, Fresh and Whole-foods and all Just-Walk-Walk out stores, as well as Grocery Fulfillment centers.

The Role: We are looking for a highly motivated, versatile software development engineer with expertise in Java and JavaScript framework (React, Angular, etc..), Embedded Devices , AI/ML experience as well as Windows development, .NET, C# is a plus. Also must have experience with Authorization and Authentication solutions. Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and cooperate in a highly collaborative environment that’s more startup than big company. As a Software Development Engineer in Amazon Fresh, Amazon Go, Whole Foods and Support grocery Fulfillment centers, you will collaborate with a team of talented engineers to build highly-scaled, low-latency solutions for frontend (Javascript, CSS, hybrid and native Windows), middle tier (Java, Spring) and backend (non-relational databases) as well as identify and evaluate new technology options for the challenges we are trying to solve. We are looking for a smart engineer who can effectively deal with ambiguity and work independently to clarify requirements, build quick prototypes and deliver results quickly. In this role:

You will be part of the smart devices platform team for physical retail, and can expect to encounter challenging, novel situations every day and work on them in touch with with multiple technical teams across Amazon in different locations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
