Amazon Software Development Engineer, AWS Cross Domain Services - Diode Messaging in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented software development engineer to design and build customer facing cross domain solutions.

AWS operates 25 global regions with many new regions planned. To meet specific security needs, connection with some of these regions is channeled through specialized cross domain solutions. On this team you will deliver innovative solutions that allow AWS customers to develop for and interact with these enhanced security regions with minimal friction.

Our engineering teams are supported by product managers, program managers, and principal engineers who you will engage with regularly.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key job responsibilities

We’re an agile, innovative team. Joining us in this role, you will:

  • Contribute to AWS regional expansion.

  • Interact directly with AWS customers to understand how to best meet their needs.

  • Build solutions that allow our public facing products to operate regardless of underlying cross domain hardware.

  • Help to build and launch new AWS products.

  • Break down and solve complex problems.

  • Improve the developer experience for AWS customers building solutions for enhanced security regions.

This role will sit in our headquarters in Arlington, Northern Virginia.

Utility Computing (UC)

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • 4+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience

  • 5+ years of building complex software systems experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
