Amazon Senior Finance Manager, North America End to End Ops FP&A in Arlington, Virginia

Description

The Finance Manager (FM) on the E2E NA Ops FP&A Reporting team leads a team of four Managers and Analysts, who have four primary areas of ownership; 1) End-to-end Cost to Serve (E2E CTS), 2) Ops Allocations, 3) Ops Contribution Profit (CP) Accuracy, and 4) E2E Consolidation support.

E2E CTS – In this capacity, the FM leads the team on both CTS variance analysis as well as by driving strategic, long-term CTS decision making. This individual partners with WW Ops and Stores Finance on defining a Northstar vision for E2E CTS, tracking the financials and KPIs of initiatives that significantly influence CTS, shaping the future of how CTS is reported out, and driving the shift in the focus from CPU to CTS.

Ops Allocations – In this capacity, the FM leads the team that understands Ops Allocation logic, performs post allocation financial analysis, and oversees the controllership and governance of allocation methodology changes. The FM possesses an understanding of the systems that govern Ops allocations and supports the S&A and TFS teams on allocation workstreams, in order to drive continuous improvement in this space.

Ops CP Accuracy – In this capacity, the FM leads the team that partners with the SPS and Profit Intelligence teams to drive CP accuracy improvements and link Ops Costs with their respective operational metrics at the unit level, to inform better strategic decision-making on pricing, selection and placement.

E2E Consolidation Support – In this capacity, the FM leads the team that provides support to the pillar of the NA Ops FP&A Reporting team primarily responsible for telling the story of the E2E financials and metrics.

In this role, there is a historical reporting element, combined with the need for a forward-looking mindset. The individual should ask the question, ‘Not what is being done now, but what should be done in the future.’ The leader in this role must possess strong people management skills. This is a high visibility, strategic role, with interaction with senior leaders from several teams, therefore the individual must exercise clear communication and strong partnership skills. The FM must always look for ways to invent and simplify on behalf of themselves, their team, and their business partners.
