About the Role:
Imagine One is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to support the US Navy’s shore-based maintenance applications. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing and migrating on-premise workloads to the AWS cloud. As part of this transition, you will encounter various learning curves, making adaptability and a passion for continuous learning essential. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while helping shape the future of the US Navy’s IT infrastructure. On-site support is preferred, but remote support options will be considered for the ideal candidate!
Key Qualifications:
Cloud Expertise:
AWS: Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services, including core services, security best practices, and architecture design.
Microsoft EntraID: Proficient in Microsoft EntraID for identity and access management within cloud environments.
DoD Cloud Environment: Deep understanding of DoD cloud policies, goals, objectives, and architecture development.
DevOps Engineering:
Proven experience in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automation, and continuous monitoring.
Expertise in containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with tools like Ansible and Terraform for automating infrastructure deployment and management.
Zero Trust Networking: Experience with zero trust networking principles and implementations is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Programming & Scripting: Excellent skills in Shell scripting, Python, and PowerShell.
Version Control: Proficient with GitHub Enterprise for version control, collaboration, and repository management.
Cloud Solutions:
Knowledge of Cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
Experience with vendor cloud technologies such as Edge Computing for tactical edge applications.
Familiarity with existing and emerging DoD networks and cybersecurity architectures.
Analytical & Design Skills:
Ability to analyze existing IT architectures and design new, secure, and innovative cloud-based solutions.
Skilled in developing clear and concise technical documentation and translating operational requirements into technical designs.
Communication:
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
DevOps Strategy & Implementation:
Lead the implementation and management of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and continuous integration and deployment.
Oversee containerization efforts and manage Kubernetes clusters to ensure scalable and reliable application deployments.
Cloud Architecture & Design:
Analyze and assess cloud architecture needs for the DoD DCIO IE.
Develop, coordinate, and manage comprehensive cloud architecture and design documents, focusing on AWS, Microsoft EntraID, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
On-Prem to Cloud Migration:
Design and execute the migration of on-premise workloads to AWS, addressing challenges and learning curves associated with the transition.
Technical Analysis & Recommendations:
Conduct in-depth technical analyses of various cloud service solutions and provide strategic recommendations for improvements or changes.
Governance & Collaboration:
Actively participate in Cloud Architecture-related governance, working groups, and forums to ensure compliance with DoD DCIO IE policies and standards.
Documentation & Communication:
Develop and deliver clear, concise written artifacts related to cloud enterprise IT architecture and design.
Effectively communicate technical concepts and project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Leadership & Teamwork:
Mentor junior team members and collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
Work independently and take ownership of complex tasks and projects.
Educational & Certification Requirements:
Certifications:
CompTIA Security+: Must possess a current Security+ certification.
Cloud Certifications: AWS or other relevant cloud certifications are highly desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of four years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related fields.
Security Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship: Required.
Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
