Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented, self-driven and motivated Senior Cost Estimator for immediate employment in our Arlington, Virginia office.
This position is responsible for activities related to estimating all the elements of project cost, including labor, materials and permanent equipment, supplies, consumables and expenses, and construction equipment rental and operating costs, contingency, escalation, and program risk, etc.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provides estimates for each project phase: conceptual, schematic design, design development and construction documents
Prepare detailed cost estimates via industry accepted methods such as RS Means for small and large projects. Estimates shall be provided in UNIFORMAT II and CSI format
Ability to concentrate in one or more of the estimating disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil and structural
Prepares or assists in the preparation of order-of-magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change orders and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques
Prepares material, equipment, and labor take-offs
Performs cost comparison analyses between in-house estimates and contractor estimates
Works with Project Managers and other disciplines to evaluate appropriateness of budgets
Utilizes the appropriate company and industry historical data for cost estimates
Prepares project and discipline estimate summaries Basis of Estimate
Establishes and maintains cost databases and product line specific parametric analysis tools
Leads the estimate reconciliation process with the project team
Prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates, and analysis of subcontractor bids etc. for projects
Maintains consistent and period communications with other estimators
Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of full project estimates

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’ degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen
Certification with AACE, I; RISC, or ASPE is required
Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
Knowledge of MCACES/MII
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, Requests-for Proposals and contracts
Must have an understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences
Knowledge of Success Estimator is a plus
Knowledge of On-Screen-Takeoff or Construct Connect a plus
Ability to generate project construction schedules
Knowledge of MS Project and Primavera a plus
