Amazon Risk Manager, RISC - Business Risk Insights in Arlington, Virginia

Description

The Regulatory Intelligence, Safety and Compliance (RISC) team's charter is to protect Amazon customers from products that are illegal, illegally marketed, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited by Amazon policies. The Risk Manager for Business Risk Insights will develop and manage mechanisms which help the RISC team to look around corners and pick up on emerging risks. This will include sourcing and surfacing anecdotes to balance our metrics, deep diving insights from partner teams, and driving actions to address learnings across RISC. This role will include a mix of developing and maintaining reports, as well as examining and improving our reporting mechanisms holistically, to ensure they produce valuable insights and don't create a false sense of security.

Key job responsibilities

  • Sourcing and consolidating insights for risk identification from partner teams such as Public Relations, Selling Partner Support, etc.

  • Generating hot spot reports on areas of emerging risks for RISC leadership and the broader RISC team.

  • Partnering with programs across RISC to incorporate anecdotes/insights into Weekly Business Reports.

  • Developing mechanisms to help programs better incorporate learnings and insights.

  • Defining and upholding standards for Weekly Business Reports.

A day in the life

  • Presenting learnings and insights to senior leadership.

  • Partnering with data and analytics teams to source data and develop reports.

  • Deep diving anecdotes and analyzing learnings from anomalies, escalations, surveys, etc.

  • Consolidating data across multiple sources to generate recommendations.

  • Inspecting reports and trackers to ensure data quality and accountability.

  • Checking in with stakeholders to source insights and program feedback.

  • Organizing cross-team deep dive sessions and learning opportunities such as Gemba walks and customer listening sessions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience handling confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

  • Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent

  • Experience with SQL and Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
