Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Planning Intern I to be based in Arlington VA.
This position is expected to begin in June 2022

The intern will serve on multi-disciplinary planning projects for mainly military installations and federal agencies as well as urban, community, and environmental projects. As part of the project team, the intern will assist in developing creative and innovative solutions to address clients’ issues including, but are not limited to:
Compiling data and conducting research in support of project delivery
Creating graphics to support the planning documents
Playing a key role in the preparation of plans
Writing sections of planning reports and documents
Producing material for project meetings and workshops
Communicating effectively with project team and manager
Minimum Requirements
Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning or related field
Must have completed one year of study
Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
Entry level to one year of related experience with internships
Must be on track to earn a master’s degree in urban and regional planning or related field
Positive outlook and can-do attitude approach to tasks and teamwork
Exceptional writing, research, analysis and communication skills
Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities
Effective problem solving and analytical skills
Efficient and organized worker with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
Apt at developing creative and innovative graphics and project layout
Follows guidance well with little oversight
Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Sketchup Pro, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
