STG International Human Resources Generalist in Arlington, Virginia

STGi is seeking a qualified Human Resources Generalist to assume responsibility for effectively completing assigned human resource functions. This position is located in our Arlington, VA office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage all leave of absences (LOA), short term disability (STD), Long-term disability (LTD) and worker compensation (WC) claims.

  • Point of contact for initiating leave of absences (LOA), for FMLA, STD and workers compensation claims.

  • Interprets and clarifies LOA policies and addresses inquiries from employees, managers and Human Resource Generalists.

  • Analyzes STD/FMLA claims to determine eligibility in compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Work cross-functionally with other HR Generalists.

  • Assist with employee relations matters in collaboration with Sr. HR Generalist.

  • Serves as staff support for various special projects and/or events.

  • Assures company compliance with all requirements of the laws as it pertains to AAP, EEO, ADA, OSHA, and the Service Contract Labor Standards.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills

  • Must be able to perform all functions using independent judgment and decision-making.

  • Demonstrate analytical, time-management and prioritization skills.

  • Demonstrate a strong aptitude for communicating effectively with all levels of employees and organizational leadership.

  • Must possess proficient skills using MS Office tools as well as HRIS.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of progressive human resources generalist experience with broad knowledge of human resources operations, employee relations compliance and benefits.

  • Prior federal government contractor experience a strong plus.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related discipline preferred.

  • Human Resources Certificate or PHR certification preferred.
