Be a part of a new corporate contract forRoyce Geo! Contract is expected to be awarded in June 2024. We are looking for a results-driven Cataloger withexperiencein collecting, populating, storing, and maintain media and metadate within an ILS in Springfield, VA! Thisdatawill be derived fromNGAs collection ofgeospatialand textual products (maps, charts, CDs, DVDs, textual material, intelligence documents, handheld photography and digitaldatasets).

Responsibilities:

  • Populate Integrated Library Systems (ILS)database using currentNGAmodified MARC 21, AACR2R, and RDA standards.
  • Follow all establishedNGAcatalogingguidelines.
  • Update Cataloging SOPs for new/altered product lines.
  • Conduct metadatareviews and verification ofdataintegrity.
  • Request and maintain access tosecuritydomain systems (SBU/NIPR, SecNet, NGANet).
  • Provide weekly metrics tracking number of items cataloged.
  • Responsible for working with appropriate leadership and team leads, to provide input on the overall management strategy and approach todataintegrity efforts and cataloging practices.
  • Maintain proper file management in accordance with division standards.
  • Support collection development; e.g. filing, bar codes, storage, in process mail, etc.
  • Conduct collection maintenance services, e.g. filing, bar codes, storage, in process mail, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • A combination of 3-5 years ofexperienceworking in cataloging, computer-baseddataentry, or in the application of MARC 21, AACR2R, or RDA standards.
  • Course work in Cartography or Geodesy or 1 year of demonstratedexperienceworking with metadataand coordinate systems (MGRS, Lat/Long, UTMs).
  • Understanding of DoD or IC produced maps/products
  • TS/SCIClearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of library clerical procedures and practices.
  • Ability to remain flexible to changing priorities and requirements from supervisors and customers.
  • Understanding of partner produced maps/products.
  • Experiencewith customer service.
  • Proficient in file management.
  • Ability to support movement and organization of physical media by carrying boxes (up to 25lbs) and climbing a ladder.
