Leidos Behavioral and Neuro-Cognitive Research Intern in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Leidos is seeking a motivatedintern to support our work in behavioral and cognitive modeling research. The position will be based out of our Arlington, VA office, which is within walking distance of the Ballston Metro stop. However, this position is available as remote work or onsite.

This candidate will work with other researchers and engineers in research projects focused on contributing to the development of state-of-the-art solutions and leading development of novel technical approaches in the field of behavioral and cognitive research. Tasks involved in this research include modeling (AI/ML) data analysis, Human Subject Research (HSR) and the adaptation and extension of behavioral and cognitive technologies as the means to improve human performance and predict human behavior. The candidate must be technically savvy and intellectually adaptive, inquisitive, communicative, a self-starter and problem-solver, and self-managed when necessary. The intern will also perform statistically analysis of the research to include visual and graphical presentation of results for decision-makers.

Primary Responsibilities

-At the direction of the project lead, perform literature review, collect, organize, and analyze data.

  • Integrate and adapt behavior and cognitive tools, theories, and models.

  • Develop test case artifacts such as test scripts, scoring code to support the analysis and interpretation of experimental results by senior researchers and decision-makers.

  • Communicate plans and results effectively through written status reports and presentations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Degree in Behavioral, Computational, or Cognitive Psychology, or a related technical field.

  • Has experience with programming languages such as Java, Matlab, R or Python.

  • Coursework in behavioral sciences and statistics.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

  • US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Modeling experience

  • Hands-on HSR experience

  • Demonstrable experience applying behavioral and cognitive methods, tools, and techniques to research projects and/or systems.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
