H2 Performance Consulting (H2) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support a Navy contract out of Arlington, VA.
The Cloud Engineer responsibilities will include:
Centralize cloud migration efforts for all PEO EIS programs
Serve as the implementation support lead for any architecture developed by NAVWAR 5.0
Review and standardize any cloud related documentation generated with PEO EIS and all supporting PMWs
Develop a Cloud Engineering playbook that can be leveraged across multiple organizations
Create repeatable processes for cloud deployment efforts
Evaluate and provide recommendations on cloud broker and cloud access strategies
Differentiate strategies for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) vice Platform as a Service (PaaS)
Identify all systems within PEO EIS that are candidates for cloud migrations
Develop cloud readiness checklists and conduct cloud readiness assessments for all systems preparing for cloud migrations
Determine minimum requirements for systems to be cloud ready and develop roadmaps to assist in preparing systems for migration
Determine which applications and systems are not candidates for cloud migration
Maintain working knowledge of current cloud industry trends and best practices
Implement a dashboard to monitor program and project progress toward cloud migration efforts
Serve as a Technical Advisor to PEO EIS Assistant Program Executive Officer for Engineering
Provide Technical Oversight across PEO EIS Portfolio of Programs and Projects related to Cloud migrations
Develop executive briefs to inform Senior Leadership on benefit realization of IT investments
Review and consolidate weekly engineering reports from Program CHENGs and develop executive-level summary for PEO EIS, Executive Director, and NAVWAR 5.0 Leadership
Apply systems engineering rigor to help transition the Navy to Commercial Cloud
Foster unit of purpose and unity of effort to achieve aligned and enhance efficiency across the Enterprise with regard to Commercial Cloud Adoption
Ensure integration between Echelon II and III Engineers and supporting technical staff
Align Cloud Engineering to execute PEO EIS Technical Services Concepts in coordination with the PEO EIS Technical Director
Ensure technical integration with DoD and DoN initiatives in support of Navy Commercial Cloud Adoption
Support the Execution of Technical Authority that provides Systems Engineering rigor while Ensuring Speed to Capability
Support Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events across all programs related to cloud migrations to identify technical risks and determine system maturity and readiness to proceed to the next phase of the Systems Engineering life cycle
Manage multiple engineering projects and manage discrete tasks
Work closely with the client and provide support at briefings and design reviews
Work independently in a multitasking environment
Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities
Identify obstacles posing risk to successful execution of critical path items and recommend potential mitigations
Subject matter expert in the design, integration, and delivery of cloud-based solutions for web-based enterprise applications
Strong knowledge of SCCA, SRG, and FedRamp policies and guidance
Strong knowledge of govern ent application hosting and/or Data Center Consolidation
Subject matter expert in commercial cloud offerings using Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, IBM Soft Layer, Salesforce, etc.
Experience deploying enterprise scale applications to production using cloud-based infrastructure
Knowledge and experience with DoD cloud security concepts
Strong systems engineering, organizational, and customer facing skills
Able to translate complex Government-customer requirements into sound technical solutions and subsequently document those solutions in equivalent detail
Perform system design analysis that may include development cost projections, architecture analysis and design, product recommendation and evaluation, Agile Sprint planning, and other architectural needs that arise.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Understands concepts of a tiered architecture and interface design
Experience designing horizontally scalable services and capabilities
Hands on experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Identify Access Management (IdAM), Storage, Virtualization, Directory Services, DoD PKI, HBSS, ACAS
Experience with FedRamp processes, policies, and requirements
Strong networking skills
Expertise of SCCA, VDSS, VDMS, TCCM
Expert knowledge of Cloud Access Point variants (Boundary, Internal, Virtual, Native Cloud-Hosted)
Excellent oral and written communication and outstanding customer service skills
Expert knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) Security Requirements Guide (SRG)
Knowledge of NAVWAR 5.0 Technical Authority (TA) Application Hosting Standards and Commercial Cloud Reference Architecture
Design Transport and Application security solutions for PEO EIS and its portfolio of programs
Develop and update secure cloud computing architecture (SCCA) standard and process to protect Navy applications and systems hosted in the commercial cloud service providers environment
Develop and assess Navy Cloud Brokers Physical Data Center Security Stacks
Develop and assess Native Cloud-Hosted SCCA for compliance with VDSS, VDMS, and TCCM requirements
Assess cloud requirement guides, derive and document functional cloud requirements, develop proposed target architecture to meet stated and derived cloud requirements
Demonstrate expert knowledge of end-to-end enterprise transport and boundary for cloud and develop/modify design for scalability, resiliency, and agility to accommodate future cloud demand signal
Develop and update Navy Enterprise Security Stack functional requirements for IPNs, TPNs, SSPNs, and CEDCs
Develop and update Technical Architecture Document (TAD) for Navy commercial cloud adoption
Develop comprehensive hybrid cloud reference architecture and implementation guide for NAVWAR 5.0
