We dedicate ourselves to providing accurate, non-partisan, impactful information to the right people at the right time so that they can act with confidence and speed. We experiment to avoid being disrupted and we have fun disrupting others. And we are not afraid to risk failure if it means being the best at what we do.

POLITICO seeks a dynamic Audience and Promotion Specialist to join the POLITICO Live team in our Arlington, Virginia headquarters. The Specialist will play a supporting role in delivering a highly influential audience for POLITICO’s high-profile newsworthy events, programs, and experiences for clients, editorial franchises, brand moments and other needs as determined by the business. • Support all aspects of audience promotion and event marketing, inclusive of creating and testing engaging email and social formats and copy, digitizing event content for promotion, social media management and optimization (organic and paid), creating game-day coverage plans, and post-event audience reporting

  • Maintain excellent working relationships with key cross-department stakeholders, peers, and their teams, including VIP Engagement, POLITICO Live, Marketing and Communications, Editorial, and external consultants among others

  • Execute and enhance project timelines to effectively meet tactical and strategic objectives across departments to ensure event marketing and promotion is organized pre, during, and post all events, including pre-event marketing plan consultation and implementation, content and agenda planning and alignment, on-site event marketing tactics, event reporting and follow-up, and other tasks as required

  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and developments and look for new opportunities to take our social experiences to the next level

  • Ensure exceptional project management of events, including the ownership of timelines and templates, driving best practices, and upward communication to your manager

What You'll Need:

  • A demonstrated interest in politics, policy, and the political process

  • 1-2+ years of experience in event marketing and social media, ideally for a news, media or political organization

  • Experience with increasing brand engagement and spotting social trends

  • Experience supporting audience building and executing marketing and promotional tactics including email marketing, paid social media marketing, etc.
