Job Summary
The Transcript Evaluator I is responsible for assessing and evaluating academic transcripts, transfer credits, and other relevant documents for current students who transferred from an educational institution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for consistently meeting or exceeding established minimum performance metrics in rule building, ensuring a baseline level of proficiency in key performance indicators.
Analyze course descriptions using TES (CollegeSource), college catalogs, academic transcripts, and other resources to determine transfer equivalencies.
Responsible for staying current with Texas General Education Core and Texas Common Course Numbering System (TCCNS) requirements, transfer articulation agreements, and all Texas Higher Education Coordination policies and guidelines.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transfer evaluations, ensuring data integrity and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Post credit for prior learning to student records in accordance with established guidelines.
Serves as subject matter expert regarding transfer evaluation in the student information system and troubleshoots any issues that arise.
Stay updated on evolving educational trends and participate in professional development activities to enhance skills related to transfer evaluation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- An associate degree with two (2) years of experience in a position requiring considerable record-keeping accuracy or a combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with various office software products such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Experience and knowledge of MyMav (PeopleSoft), TES (CollegeSource), and Microsoft Teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires attention to detail, effective communication, and strong organizational skills.
Requires the ability to apply logical thinking concepts to define problems, gather information, establish facts, and make correct conclusions.
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing deadlines.
Demonstrate ability to meticulously follow instructions with precision and accuracy, ensuring tasks are executed in accordance with given directives.
Ability to utilize required software programs and integrated student information systems.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of federal, state, and institutional policies and guidelines.
