Job/Position DescriptionCPS SAVE Program CoordinatorThe CPS S.A.V.E. Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the S.A.V.E. (Student Intern And Volunteer Efforts) Program. The position is the primary contact with CPS staff, interns, volunteers, and community partners for the coordination of the S.A.V.E. Program, which is a child abuse prevention program that connects families identified as and#147;at riskand#148; of child abuse and neglect with resources in their community. Under the supervision of the S.A.V.E. Program Supervisor and the Coordinator, social work and other related field university interns work directly with families and provide a variety of referrals and services with the ultimate goal of reducing the risk of abuse and neglect. Essential Job Functionsand#149;Responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising university student interns for the S.A.V.E. Program. and#149;Prepare training and presentation materials to provide consultation, training, leadership, public awareness, and education to CPS staff, universities, and other external entities to coordinate, improve and strengthen the S.A.V.E. Program. and#149;Maintenance and upkeep of S.A.V.E. Program computers and printers. and#149;Perform other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations. Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy and follow all work rules and procedures. and#149;Responsible for providing guidance and to accompany S.A.V.E. student interns as they provide case management services to families. Also accountable for assisting assigned student interns with skill development releated to risk and safety assignment, knowledge of community resources, interviewing skills, documentation and case management. and#149;Responsible for responding to inquiries from universities and CPS staff regarding issues related to the S.A.V.E. Program and student interns. and#149;Review S.A.V.E. referrals and the acceptance/denial of them in a timely manner. Maintaining the S.A.V.E. Program Email box.and#149;Record referral and intake information and case data. Prepare reports along with form creation and survey building. and#149;Foster and monitor relationships with assigned elementary schools. Maintain holiday programs and Resource Room. and#149;Develop resources, establish referral protocols, meet special client needs and support direct delivery activities. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsThis position requires use of the applicant's personal motor vehicle at times to complete job functions. Proof of driving record, insurance and Texas license. Knowledge Skills Abilitiesand#149;Knowledge of child development and family dynamicsand#149;Knowledge of domestic violence, mental health, substance abuse and sexual abuse and#149;Skill in effective verbal and written communicationand#149;Skill in problem solving techniquesand#149;Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlinesand#149;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency staff, interns, volunteers, community partners, and other outside entitiesand#149;Ability to work after 5:00 pm and weekends for occasional events or with groupsand#149;Comfortable in working with a variety of software programs. With a basic working/understanding of form creation and survey building.
