Job Summary

The Department of Political Science in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Public Policy, to begin in August 2025. We are especially interested in candidates whose research and teaching interests lie in one of these areas or at their nexus: health, environmental, and/or technology politics and policymaking. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Candidates should demonstrate a record of, or potential for, excellence in social science research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and service appropriate to the rank. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and teach substantive courses in their area of expertise, including introductory courses, upper-level undergraduate courses, and Master’s level courses. They should serve as an effective teacher who can relate the real-world application of public policy ideas and theories to students. They will also provide research advising to students.

Required Qualifications

  • A completed Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field is expected at the time of appointment.

  • ABDs will be considered.

  • Strong research record.

  • Interest in teaching, research, and service at a sustained level sufficient to meet tenure standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Political Science.

  • Experience teaching courses in public policy.
