Electrical Estimator (Remote)

At Ultimate LLC , we are seeking a diligent Commercial Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth.

A minimum of 5 years commercial estimating experience is preferred.

Work Location:

Jonesboro, AR / Kansas City, Missouri / Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid or project.

  • Provide complete conceptual and final estimating input on complex projects.

  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc., to determine scope of work and required contents of project estimate.

  • Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc., into unit and man-hour figures.

  • Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work using estimating software.

  • Ascertain any risks related to the estimate in order to guarantee that provisions are made for those risks in the tender.

  • Ensure that estimates are complete, well-organized and ready for review before the given deadline.

  • Maintain files of working documents as back-ups. Coordinate with the field operations team on successful bids to provide a thorough transition to the project team.

  • Provide leadership and mentor junior estimators and other members of the Preconstruction group.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

  • 5-7 years estimating in electrical construction.

  • Successful track record estimating and negotiating large, complex projects.

  • Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques and estimating software.

  • Ability to successfully coordinate and supervise group work effort.

  • Superior technical, analytical, organizational and communication skills.

  • Skillfully read and comprehend blueprints and specifications while applying a strong understanding of electrical codes.

  • Exhibit professionalism by consistently following through on commitments and maintaining clear communication.
