Eaton Corporation Program Manager, Government Projects & Development in Arden, North Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Program Manager, Government Projects & Development. This role is located at our facility in Arden, NC and offers a hybrid work schedule. Relocation offered to those residing in the U.S and live outside 50 miles of the facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage budgets for Government or major NPD programs. Responsibility, Authority and Accountability for project scope delivery and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost, and quality commitments.

  • Provide overall business interface with the government entities (Department of Energy, Office of Navy Research, etc.) and external customers. Communicate and manage customer expectations and contractual commitments.

  • Maintain schedules and budget forecasts for programs and contracts.

  • Serve as purchasing agent for all material, supplies, services, and equipment needed to fulfill contract statement of work and deliverables.

  • Provide Government Compliance training and oversite for the engineering team as related to time keeping, inventory control and purchasing processes.

  • Provide all reporting deliverables for projects under contract.

  • Provide periodic program updates to program stakeholders as well as division, group, and sector levels as appropriate.

  • Plays a key role in developing new funding opportunities with government entities and external customers.

  • Seeks team input to promote rapid resolution to issues. Coaches and provides feedback/rewards on performance indicators.

  • Coordinates all risks and requirements of the programs into a complete and integrated entity. This is accomplished by planning, controlling, integrating all projects, and measuring all elements to ensure the requirements and goals are successfully achieved.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution

  • Five (5) years’ experience in program management and leadership of project teams.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S now and within the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in MV electrical equipment and systems, specifically Motor Drive, Power Converter, and Power Electronic technologies

  • Experience with Government programs

  • Experience in New Product Development (NPD) or technology research programs.

  • Experience in managing a complex program with 1) components / subsystems / systems scope of responsibility, 2) High customer business risk, 3) Significant NRE budgets, and 4) Substantial Revenue Growth Program value.

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP)

Position Criteria:

  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customer.

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen

  • Ability to achieve goals by working collaboratively and cross-functionally.

  • Work effectively in diverse cultural situations with our global team members.

  • Ability to initiate and provide recommendations for senior leadership.

  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual

  • Proved proficiency in Microsoft Project

  • Experience in Risk Management
