Your role as a Engineering Co-Op - Manufacturing Technologies will allow you to serve staff and leaders and help provide creative solutions to drive CPC's short- and long-term goals. TheEngineering Co-Op - Manufacturing Technologies,operatesand adjusts various types of conventional oradditivemachineryincluding CNCmulti-axismachines, lathes, drill presses, grindersFDM, Resin, Powder Bed or SLS or otherprecision equipment and may assist Manufacturing Team Members in the set-up of machines. Job Responsibilities Learn to work from drawings,solid models,writtenand digitalinstructions to create partsin support of engineering and production efforts. Performs a wide variety of duties to set up and operate CNC machines. Performs diversified and complex operations on one or more machines simultaneously as required. Follow document and work instructions for processes. Requires basic knowledge of various metals, plasticsand of measurements used in machining processestoprovide technical leadership and assist in training less experiencedteam members. Learns to understand aspects of operating machines and can proficiently run multiple machines. Handles changeovers with limited assistance, has the ability and understanding of CNC machine logic. Learn to create simple to moderately complex CNCprograms, post-edit CNC programs to fine-tune processes for optimal performance andcanread, finderrors,and troubleshoot programs. Become familiar with pre and post processing of 3D printed parts. Able to create and post 3D printingfiles and post to multiple systems. Possesses basic math andproblem-solvingabilities. Learn to Inspect work pieces at beginning of and throughout production run toensurepart meets tolerance requirements. Learn to inspect and understands when to replace cutting tools. Demonstrates ability to effectively use all necessary measuring toolstoassure conformance to print. Understands and verifies tolerances for machined surfaces. Adheres to all safety regulations. Demonstrates support of CPC core values. Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs. Qualifications High school diploma Currently enrolled or attending a machine tool and die or additive manufacturing technical degree program. Understands the differences of machining metals and plastics Clear communications, strong organizational skills and self-driven Preferred Qualifications Familiar with CAM software (Fusion360,Mastercam, HSM WorksorGibbsCam) Familiar with CAD systems such as CREO, Solidworks, Fusion360 or equivalent CAD software Travel Requirements: Up to 5% Physical Demands: Must frequently lift and/or move 10 up to a maximum of 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, sitting is regularly required; use of hands and fingers, and talk or hear. Reaching is frequently required with hands and arm . Frequently required to stand, walk, and/or stoop. Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
