Robert Half Assistant Controller in Arcade, New York

Description We are in search of an Assistant Controller to join our team located in ARCADE, New York. This role involves handling various accounting tasks, such as overseeing the accounts payable and receivable functions, assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Guide and mentor the accounting team to deliver high-quality results

• Set short and long-term objectives for the accounting department and evaluate performance using key performance indicators

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and regular financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

• Oversee the general ledger and journal entries for accuracy

• Conduct month, quarter, and year-end close procedures

• Collaborate with other departments to establish and maintain internal controls and policies

• Research and rectify discrepancies in financial records

• Manage audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors

• Oversee bank accounts and assist with treasury management

• Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven experience in the role of an Assistant Controller or similar capacity

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

• Experience with Financial Statements Consolidation

• Proficiency in preparing Monthly Financial Statements

• Demonstrated ability to manage Month End Close processes

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong leadership qualities and team management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification will be considered an asset

• Must possess strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
