Vulcraft Surface Inspection Lead in Apple Grove, West Virginia
Basic Job Functions:
The role of theSurface Inspection Leadis an integral part of the Technical Service team responsible for working with our Surface Inspection Systems throughout the Mill to create and support solutions in the areas of safety, profitability, and teammate development. This position is actively involved in the implementation, development, and improvement of the Surface Inspection solutions for the Caster, Hot Mill, and Cold Mill to support the decision making of our operation team on the disposition of the semi-finished and finish products. Make sure the maintenance of the systems is being executed according to the plan and the inspection systems have high availably (uptime). Strives for continuous improvement and supports the production team. As a technical resource, this individual will be directly involved with developing the specific training and communications required to expand the knowledge of our team, and our partners on the subject matter.
Nucor Steel West Virginiais Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steel making capabilities and lower carbon emissions.This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational after two years of construction.The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills and is locatedin the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degreein Metallurgy, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Degree,or Equivalent Minimum 2 Years of Surface Inspection experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with SQL, Python, Power-BI, IBA, etc. Experience in Surface Inspection Systems in a steel mill Basic concept ofMachine Learning
