This role in summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior User Experience/Research Analyst to join our Perceived Quality team. This role will focus on optimizing the usability and ergonomics of our home appliance portfolio. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of user experience and perceived quality. As a Senior Analyst, you will lead human factors research, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide expert guidance to enhance product design and functionality. This in-person role is based at our Monterey, Mexico Design Studio.
Your responsibilities will include
Advocate for users through a Human-Centered Design approach
Create compelling, inspiring, and unique digital designs for Whirlpool-connected home appliances and services.
Orchestrate multi-sensory design solutions involving sound, motion, visual elements, light, sensor impacts, remote UIs, and voice UIs.
Communicate the user experience with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or high-fidelity prototypes.
Plan and execute usability testing to evaluate product prototypes and final designs.
Conduct in-home research to understand consumer needs, behaviors, and abilities.
Analyze user behavior, preferences, and feedback to identify areas for design improvement..
Conduct human factors research using interviews, surveys, and ergonomic assessments.
Review and improve the ergonomic aspects of product designs for comfort, safety, and efficiency.
Verify that product designs adhere to human factors and ergonomics standards and regulations.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Ergonomics, Cognitive Psychology, Industrial Design, or related field from an accredited school
57 years professional experience in human factors engineering, usability testing, or a related field. Previous experience in consumer goods is a plus
Proven experience leading human factors research and applying findings to product design
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
Proficiency in human factors research methods, usability testing tools, and ergonomic assessment techniques
Preferred skills and experiences
Strong project management/planning skills with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate communication across different disciplines
Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies
Strong decision-making abilities, self-motivation, self-directed
