The team you will be a part of

The Dry Systems Engineer - Analyst positions will be located on the Heat Transfer team, within the Performance Subsystem team - Laundry .

This role in summary

The Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of subsystem modules that integrate seamlessly into new or existing dryers This engineer will work to integrate modules, plastic and metal components, electrical and gas heaters across various technologies such as heat pump, condensing, and air-vented clothes dryers.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Dry Systems modules and component development for dryers heating elements, metal stamping and injection molding components.

  • Optimize appliance drying performance through module development and parameterization.

  • Support the module technology roadmaps, including complexity reduction, attribute requirements, cost & quality.

  • Understand the critical module parameters that contribute to system level attribute requirements (functional decomposition).

  • Understand the physics with focus on thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.

  • Support new product design from concept development to execution.

  • Work closely with the drying cycle development team to enable the system level performance attributes.

  • Develop multiple concepts and utilize Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), design verification plans and risk assessment tools to assist in decision making.

  • Develop new and improve existing test methods and test plans for performance validation.

  • Develop and capture knowledge required to deliver module level excellence

Minimum requirements

  • BSME in Mechanical / Mechatronic / Aeronautical Engineering or related field with an emphasis in Thermal or heating Systems.

  • 2+ years in Appliance / Consumer Goods Industry Experience or relevant Industry.

  • Ability to apply fundamental physics to design and analyze Heating systems as well as metal forming process and design.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Masters degree with related experience would be a plus.

  • Black Belt/Opex/Six Sigma experience.

  • Strong sense of accountability and personal commitment.

  • Critical thinking, issue follow-up and resolution skills.

  • Basic knowledge of Risk Management, and Project Management
