Are you eager to develop your Human Resources career and contribute to a dynamic team? CoVantage Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources Assistant to join our team! This position supports the Employee Services business unit, focusing on the HR department in various administrative tasks. It plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of HR processes and the smooth running of the Employee Services business unit.

Job duties:

  • Completes processing of paperwork and workflows related to employee record changes (i.e. new hires, job changes, pay changes, name changes, terminations).

  • Ensures timely entry of information into the human resources information system and is responsible for the integrity and retention of these records.

  • Ensures documentation for employee files is uploaded to the human resource information system in a timely manner and are maintained according to record retention guidelines.

  • Partners with Benefits Specialist to assist with the facilitation of benefit programs enrollment and change reporting, records management, and open enrollment.

  • Assists the Culture and Engagement Officer with employee activities (i.e. holiday parties, employee picnics, staff retirement celebrations, etc.) and the employee recognition program.

  • Ensures all required employment postings are up-to-date at all offices and monitors postings on the bulletin board at the main office.

  • Assists managers and HR staff with updating employee timesheets as needed. Reviews timesheets at the beginning of the payroll week to ensure they have been approved by deadline and follows up with appropriate manager if any timesheets are outstanding.

  • Reviews/audits biweekly payroll in accordance with credit union procedures as well as state, federal, and local guidelines.

  • Supports Employee Development team with trainings (i.e. order lunch, book hotels, WebEx set up, etc.)

  • Provides high level of service by answering employee questions or, when appropriate, directing employees to correct Employee Services team member.

  • Performs all job functions with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.

  • Maintains the confidentiality of member, employee, and credit union information.

    Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Certificate or Associate’s degree in related field preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in administrative functions, preferably within an HR department.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Above average accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ability to maintain confidential employee information.
