PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To perform duties, which include cutting, stripping and tinning of wires, terminating wires with automated machines or by hand, wire harness and mechanical assembly. To perform these duties in a timely manner and to ensure quality according to customer specifications. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Must read and understand blueprints, bill of materials, rework instructions and other related documents. Follow internal assembly processes as well as those provided by customer requirements. Must be able to learn to read required measurements. Cut and tin wires according to customer specifications. Perform wire termination by hand or automation according to customer specifications. Perform pull tests on terminated wires according to procedure. Perform daily, weekly or monthly maintenance as needed on the department machines. Plug wires into connectors and perform automated tie wrapping according to customer specifications. Solders wire to connectors or other misc. soldering as required. Perform mechanical assembly using various hand tools, according to customer specifications. Recording of required information on internal forms and customer forms. Maintain daily times worked on specific jobs by scanning in/out of computer system or keeping daily timesheets when requested. Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures. Also reporting any safety concerns and participates in the scheduled stretch breaks to ensure a safe work environment. Accountable for accepting responsibility for quality aspects of the job by actively participating in quality efforts that support Altron Inc.'s quality policy. Responsible for compliance to Altron s Quality Management System and other regulatory and statutory requirements as required by the customer. Authority to stop production when nonconformances are found. Accountable for accepting responsibility for continuous on the job training by actively participating in training put on by designated Altron employees and/or any outside service.
