Nvent Management Company Design Engineer in Anoka, Minnesota

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: Apply specific technological expertise to specific projects i.e. component selection analysis Works with multi-functional teams that launch products by taking market specifications from design to prototype to production. This can also cover both branded platform products and products engineered for specific customer application. Work closely with Engineering Project Leaders establish a design and establish testing and evaluation to make sure the products meet the customer needs Translate customer needs into product specifications Participate in multi-functional product development teams Coordinate and maintain development project schedules Lead all aspects of prototyping and testing Direct outside activities such as regulatory or other third party testing Establish test specifications and protocols May assist in the development of product roadmaps YOU HAVE: BS in Engineering required, Mechanical preferred. Ideally 3-5+ years of related engineering experience Knowledge in electronics & electrical schematics and wire diagrams Knowledge in refrigeration and heat transfer Knowledge in sheet metal design Knowledge of all safety codes, standards, practices and rules to ensure safety of employees, public and equipment Skill in researching, analyzing and making recommendations related to sophisticated applications Skill to read and interpret product drawings Skill to develop and deliver effective presentations and communication to all levels within the organization Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the technical strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Ability to identify the root cause of problems/issues by asking probing questions and the ability to develop recommendations for resolution Ability to use product knowledge to makes excellent decisions that result in improved customer satisfaction and is looked upon by others as resource for that knowledge Ability to lead multiple tasks/projects along with the ability to work in a fast paced team environment in a self-directed manner Ability to compose and interpret reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals Ability to interpret and analyze professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; analyze mathematical concepts and apply these to practical situations. Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships internally and externally (customers, suppliers, etc.).
