ASRC Federal Holding Company Senior MQ Engineer in ANNAPOLIS, Maryland

ASRC Federal Holding Company is seeking candidates in the Annapolis Junction, MD area to support an upcoming government contract. This position may temporarily be supported remotely per Federal govt. COVID-19 guidelines.


This position is responsible for maintaining 24x7x365 mission critical systems Middleware Enterprise platform (IBM MQ Series). This includes design, configuration, back-up, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring critical events and documentation.

The right candidate will have at least 10 years of demonstrated track record of success supporting middleware requirements for 24x7x365 mission critical systems.

You will create, maintain, and update documentation. You back up, retrieve, maintain, and migrate programs and data.

You will partner with the enterprise stakeholders, IT support organization and development teams to chart a service delivery roadmap, manage deliverables, SLAs and SLOs.


  • Work with admins, architects, and developers to design, implement and manage middleware configurations based on requirements.

  • Understand customer current and forecasted demand and accordingly design and implement middleware products to meet business demands.

  • Develop and implement standard processes for installation, maintenance, and enhancement of middleware applications.

  • Resolve complex technical production issues related to Contact Technology applications running in Mixed Operating System, Hybrid, Private and Public Cloud solutions environments.

  • Contribute in requirements for automation, monitoring, diagnostic, simulation, and other tools to maintain, enhance and/or restore services.

  • Research, identify, trial, and apply innovative technologies to update existing middleware.

  • Create and maintain technical artifacts for middleware installations, changes, and upgrades.

  • Collaborate and coordinate efforts with vendors and support team on problem resolution, design issues and upgrades.

  • Troubleshoot incident response, upgrading, and patching in a timely manner.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems such as capacity issues in timely and accurate manner to improve application performance and functionality.

  • Provide design and implementation strategies for migration, consolidation, and upgrade of middleware components.

  • Provide operational metrics to support continuous improvement and SLAs/SLOs.

  • Assess system architecture and make recommendations as required.

  • Follow change control procedures to ensure all enhancements, upgrades and patches are thoroughly tested and planned before implementation in the production environment.

  • Regularly solicit feedback and Hosted Applications requirements from customers and end-users
