ManTech Systems Engineer, Sr.-L3 in Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer, L3-Senior to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD .

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • This position supports an IT operations environment. The successful candidate should expect to support work on nights and weekends and may be included in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.

  • Independently, and working with technical stakeholders, identify opportunities to automate existing processes that hinder achievement of program availability, security, and functional requirements

  • Automate systems administration tasks using available tools and techniques in the environment (e.g. Urban Code Deploy (UCD), bash, python, perl, powershell)

  • Thoroughly vet and test automation solutions with appropriate stakeholders

  • Document efficiencies gained through automation activities

  • Train and mentor other team members on how to use automation solutions in the environment

  • Identify and communicate current and emerging technology concepts

  • Conduct Design Workshops with multiple stakeholders

  • Develop strategic plans for architecture, engineering and integration

  • Provide reporting and feedback to senior management as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of systems administration, systems engineering, and systems automation experience.

  • Intermediate to expert level experience with multiple common scripting languages and modern automation tools (e.g. Urban Code Deploy (UCD), bash, python, perl, powershell)

  • Experience implementing technical solutions in complex and heterogeneous environments, including:

  • Experience developing, configuring, and delivering COTS solutions in support of enterprise IT infrastructure design (e.g. network, storage, virtualization, database, 3rd party tools)

  • Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning

  • Experience working in an agile environment utilizing DevOps and CI/CD practices.

  • Demonstrated expertise in security policy and implementation

  • Experience understanding organizational needs, proposing solutions, and managing project execution efforts designed to deliver overall program benefits for Government Agencies

  • Strong experience in ensuring customer satisfaction, problem resolution, and risk management on several medium to large projects

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline with 8 or more years related professional experience. (Education can be substituted for 9 years of experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with an IBM architectural stack (e.g. AIX on Power, DB2, Websphere)

  • Experience in Data Analytic Technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Neteeza, Sailfish)

  • Experience transitioning from AIX Power to RHEL on Intel

  • Experience with RHEL containerization

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)automation tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible)

  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline tooling and processes

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active DOD Secret clearance and ability to obtain agency suitability clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to type
