Description

We are currently looking to hire a Technical Writer who can transform complex and technically difficult written material into clear and concise documentation that will be read by target audiences. In this role you will:
Act as project leader for projects with complex or voluminous documentation and provide or coordinate special documentation services as required
Provide expert oversight of technical writing and editing to all phases of acquisition and technical documentation for the Program, Project, or Contract
P repar e , review, revis e , and maint ain technical documents to includ e software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation
Write and edit technical documentation for a project’s hardware and software to include installation, configuration, and how-to documentation
Create code documentation for software , produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities , and provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation
F ormat technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources
Requirements:
Experience a ssist ing in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides , manuals, and technical publications , as well as m aintain ing a current internal documentation library
Experience coordinating the layout and design of documents utilizing multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.
Experience w ork ing through all life-cycle phases with developers to produce quality documentation and training material
Must possess the ability to r esearch highly technical subject matter, organize information from multiples sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers
Experience a pply ing concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts and other available sources to understand and blend large quantities of computer-related information
Must have the ability to p roduce defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation utilized by the end-user community of DoD electronic equipment and system s, as well as for c ryptologic programs or projects developing analytic tradecraft methodologies
Must be able to w ork independently to prepar e and maintain highly complex systems, programming and operations documentation, and procedures and methods
Eight (8) years of experience as a T echnical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college , OR thirteen (13) years of experience as a technical writer; A Master’s degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, reducing the requirement to six (6) years of experience
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
