Today’s dynamic global security threats require solutions both big and small – solutions living within the Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC). One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking a Sr. Staff Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) Lead based out of Linthicum, MD or Annapolis Junction. The SEIT Lead is responsible for directing the execution of the overall systems engineering, integration, and test (SEIT) effort on the program. The SEIT Lead is also responsible for horizontal and vertical integration across all engineering elements of the program. The SEIT Lead ensures the integrity of engineering processes, and timely development of core engineering work products. The SEIT Lead typically has Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibility, which comprises cost and schedule management for the SEIT work scope. The SEIT Lead interfaces with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, System Architect, other engineering team leads, as well as the customer.

  • What You’ll get to Do:

  • Plan and execute the core functions and ensure the project team has qualified staff to execute the program core functions.

  • Plan, execute, and close out program reviews (e.g., SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, peer reviews, Pre-test reviews, Post Test Reviews, Pre-Ship reviews, Etc.

  • Ensure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements.

  • Manage the vertical and horizontal technical integration throughout the product teams and program life cycle.

  • Oversee configuration management of the overall Program Baseline

  • Serve as the Logistics and Supportability Interface ensuring that all applicable specialty engineering disciplines horizontally integrate across applicable phases of the program lifecycle.

  • Collect, manage, and report the program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).

  • Manage risk and opportunity and the production of core engineering work products and track the work products and associated program dependencies in the program schedule.

  • Oversee the establishment and execution of the program lifecycle and work products.

  • Support the transition of the project to the operations, maintenance, and sustainment stakeholders.

  • Coordinate between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Product Team Lead(s), program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline.

  • Align measurement objectives and activities to meet program performance goals and objectives.

This position is contingent upon clearance.

This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Staff SEIT Lead:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 14 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 9 years of experience.

  • Knowledge of ASIC product life cycle.

  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML).

  • Demonstrated Requirements Management from Elicitation to Verification.

  • Demonstrated Backlog Planning and Management.

  • Risk and Opportunity Management experience.

  • Experience leading technical teams.

  • Experience in systems development, integration, and test.

  • Demonstrated great communication skills.

  • Current active DoD TS/SCI with poly security clearance per business requirements.

  • This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications of Sr. Staff SEIT Lead:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in STEM or technical management.

  • Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements (UAF).

  • Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally.

  • Experience working with CAMEO.

Salary Range: $174,800 - $274,700

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
