Amentum is seeking a technically-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD to support Amentum’s Security Design and Construction program for mission-critical customers. This engineer will provide design and other technical support to modernize and model new and existing electrical infrastructure for a variety of projects. This is an office-related position that offers a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Your knowledge and background in Power Systems will help lead the engineering teams with completing engineering calculations, analyses, design specifications and design drawings.

• Using eTAP or SKM software, you will analyze load flow, short-circuit, protective device coordination and arc-flash studies. These studies will be used to coordinate protective devices, Time-Current Curves (TCCs), and Arcflash Reduction Maintenance Settings (ARMS).

• You will perform the analysis, simulation, monitoring, control, optimization, and automation of electrical power systems for projects of various scales.

• You will utilize your knowledge of SCADA and communications infrastructure on which it resides to design monitoring and control systems into the electrical systems.

• Using lighting calculation software, you will also compute lighting levels to guide the lighting design to client and code prescribed levels.

• Based on your experience, you will assist the technical manager in developing fees and the technical response based on Clients’ RFPs.

• In addition to design, the engineer will provide technical input for our construction and design-build projects.

• As a technical leader, you will also support construction bids through drawing reviews, site visits and construction bid reviews.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering, and at least 10 years of electrical design experience

• Professional License (PE) in Electrical Engineering

• Must maintain a valid state driver's license

• Position may require occasional travel

• Due to the nature of the work, must be a US citizen

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain TS level (or higher) clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Power Systems modeling

• Ability to prepare schedules in MS Project or Primavera

• Financial acumen to discern profit/loss on projects and to develop remedies

• Active security clearance
