What You'll Do

The Department of Industrial & Operations Engineering is growing its Student Services team by adding a Student Funding Coordinator. As the Student Funding Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting with the success of our graduate programs (Ph.D., Masters, and M.Eng.) by coordinating the funding and financial aid of our graduate students. You will work closely with the Student Services team, the Research Administration team, and the Department Administrator to process fellowships and student appointments as well as track the financial support of our graduate students. You will report directly to the Student Services Manager.

In this role, you will

  • Collaborate with the Student Services Manager to plan and track financial support for students

  • Assign and process student employment positions (GSI, GSRA, instructional aides, graders, research assistants, etc.)

  • Process fellowship and scholarship awards

  • Coordinate external funding opportunities for students

  • Assist with logistics of graduate admissions

  • Complete department- and college-level reporting

  • Collaborate with the Master's Program Director to organize professional development opportunities for graduate students

  • Assist with student services activities

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree and two to three years of relevant student services experience or equivalent amount of education and experience

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience with Excel and database programs

  • Proven strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and student populations

Desired Qualifications*

  • Excellent problem solving skills, superior organizational skills, self-starter, and ability to effectively work with a diverse group of faculty and students

  • Experience with various sources of funding for graduate students

  • Experience with managing accounting spreadsheets and finance tracking

  • Knowledge of GEO and Academic HR policies
