Job Summary
Under general direction of faculty and senior research personnel, this individual will be responsible for planning, conducting, and directing the data retrieval specifications and analysis plan for several research and improvement projects focused on the equitable care of children. They will perform complex data analyses and programming tasks requiring advanced techniques, as well as supervise/direct the activities of a team of 3-5 electronic medical record data extractors/analysts.
Responsibilities*
Act as project leader for the data team, providing supervision, technical advice and consultation on complex data extraction, analysis and programming projects
Provide analytical direction and support in the conceptualization, development and implementation of complex data analysis plans for multiple pediatric equity projects
Gather, analyze, and interpret a wide variety of data, including administrative claims and electronic medical record data, according to established statistical methods
Perform descriptive and advanced statistical analyses, conduct ad hoc analysis, review and approve output from other data team members
Prepare reports, charts, tables, dashboards and other data visual aids for presentation to internal and external partners.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, biostatistics or related field or equivalent experience
10+ years of increasingly complex programming experience
Expertise in statistical programming; data visualization; statistical consulting and study design; and the application of advanced statistical methods, including mixed effects modeling, nonparametric regression modeling, statistical tools to support improvement work and survival data analysis
Expertise in working with administrative claims and electronic medical record data
Willingness to work onsite 3-4 days per week
Highly organized, attentive to detail, reliable and self-directed. Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team on multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Desired Qualifications*
Master's degree in data science, computer science, biostatistics or related field
Clarity Training/Certification
10 years of experience in public health and/or health services research

Under FLSA, this is the exempt job classification for this title. Incumbents in this position must meet the full criteria for exempt status: salary level, salary basis, and duties tests.
