Summary
The Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID) is a social science study that has collected economic, social, and demographic data from U.S. adults since 1968. We are located within the Survey Research Center (SRC) at the Institute for Social Research (ISR). Our central mission is to provide the scientific research community of economists, sociologists, demographers, and other social scientists with accurate data and documentation. The PSID includes major supplemental data collections such as the Child Development Supplement (CDS) and the Transition into Adulthood Supplement (TAS). The project is looking for a Research Administrator to assist the program leadership and research faculty to accomplish program and project goals by supporting all administrative research activities. This position will report to the Research Administration Senior Manager of PSID's Administrative Team.

Responsibilities*
\What You?ll Do
Post-award management:
Review award information with PSID leadership and research faculty to determine reporting requirements and/or billing complexities; create revised budgets based on the awarded budget.
Initiate and process subcontracts and other service agreements including drafting sole source justifications and oversee invoice payments.
Process post award changes including time extensions, Uniform Guidance (UG) approvals, carry forward requests, and sponsor reporting requests.
Ensure timely completion of annual sponsor reports (RPPR) and assist with the completion of and review of reports prior to submission. Provide assistance in drafting the administrative pieces of sponsor interim and final reports.
Financial management:
Set up, monitor, and forecast financial status of active projects (project grants and subproject grants) including managing multiple budget changes, carry forward requests, and rebudgeting awarded funds for emerging priorities.
Review project expenses to determine allowability and appropriateness including researching erroneous charges and taking corrective action.
Prepare financial analyses and reports of sponsored and non-sponsored spending; provide complex projections as requested by research faculty; review and timely completion of Financial Status Reports (FSRs) and sponsor required financial reporting.
Pre-award management:
Work closely with the program leadership and research faculty to develop, prepare and submit proposals, some involving multi-site budgets, consortium agreements, and other partnership arrangements to National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), and a variety of Foundation sponsors.
Develop itemized budgets and guide research faculty on appropriate budgetary items to include in proposal submissions ensuring proposal and budget compliance with federal, University, ISR and center specific rules and regulations.
Organize all proposal documentation and submit via the UM Electronic Research Management System (eRPM), Grants.gov, Research.gov and other Sponsor systems.
Maintain sponsor specific biosketches and Current/Pending Other Support for assigned research faculty.
Compliance:
Assist with the creation and management of Unfunded Agreements/Data Use Agreements (UFA/DUA) in eRPM.
Assist with drafting administrative pieces for Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications for human subjects studies.
Attend SRC and ISR research administration meetings and training to remain current on issues affecting proposal preparation, changes in UM policy and procedures, and to stay current on financial and administrative reporting; represent the program on committees and in meetings to other administrators.
Required Qualifications*
We?d like to hear from you if you have:
Bachelor degree and a minimum of 5 years of progressive grant and contract experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Can be underfilled at an intermediate level with 3 to 5 years of experience.)
Knowledge of sponsored research policies, rules and regulations
Intermediate/advanced skills using Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Able to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent verbal and written skills necessary for communicating intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers
Desired Qualifications*
We are especially interested if you also have:
Knowledge or experience in working in ScienceCV, Research.gov, eRA Commons, Grants.gov and/or other sponsor-specific portals
Knowledge of university accounting principles and applications
Demonstratied experience with university business tools such as Business Objects, MPathways, M-Reports, and procurement
PEERRS certification.
Certified Research Administrator (CRA).

These positions will be on-site at the University of Michigan Offices in Ann Arbor, with flexible scheduling and hybrid remote opportunities made available within our overall center policies.
Underfill Statement
Openings may be filled at the Research Administrator Senior or Research Administrator Intermediate level and salaries will correspond to the appropriate classification based on education and experiences:
Research Administrator Senior: $78K-$92K
Research Administrator Intermediate: $65K-77K
The salary paid will be competitive and commensurate with selected candidate's education and professional work experience with flexibility to exceed these ranges.
