Job Summary
Under general supervision, the role will function as the Recall Coordinator and is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of product recalls or coordination of other product risks to support patient care delivery and ensure regulatory compliance. This role requires collaboration with clinical and operational teams to ensure the effective execution of product risk management activities including manufacturer recalls.

Responsibilities*
Recall Management:
UMH Recall Coordinator ? independently processing over 5,000 annual recalls per year for University of Michigan Health.Each must be researched against multiple data sources to identify if there is any potential impact.
Communicating to potentially impacted clinical and operational teams.
Tracking responses and following up on any groups that have not provided a prompt response.
Lead planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and PDCA cycles of recall procedures to ensure patient safety and operational effectiveness.
Analyze business needs and document requirements for effective recall execution, utilizing clinical knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements.
Maintain KPI results on an ongoing basis.
Serve as the primary liaison for communication during recalls, coordinating efforts across interrelated teams, and serving as the recall subject matter expert.
Maintain a Microsoft Access database, or future software platform(s), with all recall information.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive records of recall activities for reporting and compliance purposes.
Vendor Access & Compliance:
Assist with the vendor credentialing platforms to ensure all vendors meet hospital access requirements.
Assist with enforcing hospital policies and procedures related to vendor access and compliance, ensuring all vendors are fully informed and adhere to institutional standards.
Conduct audits of vendor activities and access to ensure compliance with hospital regulations and industry standards.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in a relevant allied health discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
3-5 years of relevant experience in supply chain, quality assurance, recall management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with clinical and operational teams.
Experience with Microsoft Office, or similar software platforms.
Desired Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree
3+ years of relevant experiencing managing recalls in a hospital environment.
Strong understanding of The Joint Commission requirements, healthcare compliance regulations, and FDA recall regulations.
Experience with Lean principles and tools for process improvement.
Experience with Microsoft Access, recall alert services, FDA recall alerts, and Vendor credentialing platforms.
