Immediate opportunity for a Lab Technician to work in a grain testing lab. In this position, you will be responsible for the preparation and testing of grain samples, following ISO guidelines. This position required the selected candidate to work onsite in Ankeny, Iowa. Relocation cost reimbursement is not available for this position. Local candidates are preferred. This is a long-term temporary assignment with an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and "get your foot in the door" at a global Fortune 500 life sciences company.

work hours: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Receipt, identification, and preparation of samples – ensure incoming samples are labeled correctly, appropriate analytical have been requested, prep and analyze samples according to ISO work instructions.

• Prioritization of analyses according to customer needs matched to capacity; organization and coordination of projects in a high throughput lab environment; obtaining analytical data; ensuring data integrity; functioning in multi-discipline teams and delivering laboratory results in an efficient manner.

Requirements:

• Degree in chemistry, biology or related field of study is highly preferred with 1-3 years of relevant lab experience.

• Hands-on experience with total combustion analysis, elemental analysis, calorimetry, Gas Chromatography (GC), NIR Spectroscopy, NMR, total oil analysis, colorimetry, falling number, farinograph, mixograph, bench-top wet chemical analyses, LIMS and the Microsoft Office Suite. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
