Lockheed Martin Electrical Engineer - Level 3 in Andover, Massachusetts

At the Advanced Energy Storage division of Lockheed Martin, you will have an opportunity to contribute to the development of energy storage for the future. You will work alongside a team of world-class engineers and scientists, with the backing of a global technology leader known for its history of innovation. You will develop technical solutions supporting the operation of a revolutionary grid-connected flow battery system. As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will use your practical knowledge of electrical safety, industrial controls, and best electrical design practices to develop, integrate, and maintain a family of electrochemical test stands ranging from single kilowatts to single Megawatts. You will be relied upon for providing electrical testing and troubleshooting of components and subsystems, and documentation of results.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Develop, integrate, and maintain electrochemical test stands for grid-connected flow battery systems.

• Utilize practical knowledge of electrical safety, industrial controls, and best electrical design practices.

• Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting of components and subsystems.

• Document test results and provide recommendations for improvements.

• Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and scientists to achieve project goals.

• Participate in the development and implementation of new testing methodologies and procedures.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM). Prefer Electrical or Industrial Engineering degrees. Must have 5 years experience in engineering.

Must have 2+ years experience in all of the following:

• Electrical safety standards

• Hands-on experience with industrial controls and

instrumentation

• Electrical design and troubleshooting

• Knowledge of product documentation practices

• MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN or Permanent Resident

Desired Skills:

• Strong interest in renewable energy field, familiarity with energy storage systems, and experience with flow batteries

• Familiarity with industrial power systems, tens of kW to single MW, up to 480 VAC

• Hands-on experience with designing, wiring, and troubleshooting control and power circuits

• Understanding of industrial switchgear and electrical protective devices

• Familiarity with industrial controls for battery testers, load banks, and variable frequency drives

• Familiarity with Solidworks Electrical, or similar CAD software

• Extensive use of digital multimeters, power meters, and other test equipment; basic soldering and wiring skills

• Strong ability to write test procedures and reports; ability to communicate verbally and in writing

• Ability and desire to work both independently and as a part of cross-functional team of electrical engineers, software and control engineers, and test technicians

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
